Communities in CRR Pay Courtesy Call on New CRR Governor

The communities of Lower Fulladu and Niani districts recently paid a courtesy call on the new Governor of Central River Region, Mr. Gangie Touray, at his office. The courtesy call is said to be part of the region’s tradition of calling on any newly appointed regional governor. The delegates were led by the chiefs of the two districts, Momodou Lamin Baldeh of Lower Fulladu and Pierre Bah of Niani.

Addressing the delegates, the new governor, Mr. Ganjie Touray, called on the people of the region to co-operate and unite in the interest of development.

He further urged them to put aside their differences and recognise the supremacy of the party so as to uphold the good name of the party. He advised the people of the region to embrace the habit of hard work and to show unflinching loyalty to President Jammeh. Governor Touray highlighted the achievements made by President Jammeh in the past years. He assured them of his readiness to attend any reconciliation meeting that might be arranged in the districts.

For his part Pierre Bah, the chief of Niani urged the people to fight against tribalism and uphold regional unity. He assured Governor Touray that his district is ready to achieve 90 percent support for President Jammeh and the party.

Other speakers included Alh Baboucarr Jobe, the APRC Divisional Chairman, Alh Omar Mambureh, Alh Abdou Ndow and Alh Sorry Kanteh.
