Eight unknown armed robbers recently succeeded in an operation to rob a shop owned by a Mauritanian in Kerr Pateh Koreh, Central Badibu, North Bank Region. After breaking into the shop, they walked away with 85,000 CFA - amounting to D4000 plus - and a gun with 25 life bullets, Daily Observer can reveal.
Sedat Diko, a saleman in the shop, last week, narrated his ordeal to this reporter, explaining how the bandits stormed his shop at around 9pm.
‘‘I was alone in the shop and I wanted to take a chair outside the shop’s main door. But before taking my seat, eight unknown men, armed with cutlasses appeared before me,’’ he revealed.
He further stated that three men in front and three at the back surrounded him, placing their cutlasses at his neck and allowing the rest of the group to invade the shop.
‘‘One of them took our gun and stood in the middle of one of the doors while the other one closed the two other doors,’’ he added.
According to him the operation was quick and after their thievery, the bandits ran away and succeeded in getting into neighbouring Senegal. Needless to say, Kerr Pateh Koreh has not yet recovered from that sudden event.
