Man United are Pirang champions

Man United emerged champions of the Gamcel sponsored Pirang nawettan tournament after defeating an impressive Kanyi's side 1-0 in an exciting and keenly contested final.

A game which was characterized by beautiful display of skills and talents saw lots of squandered goal chances from both sides but most especially the eventual losers, Kanyi's.

Kanyi's Mbemba Tunkara failed to put his team ahead just ten minutes into the game when he fired blank a one-on-one opportunity in a game throughout which spectators held their breaths each time there were attacks or counter-attacks from both sides.

Kanyi's, who dominated much of the possession, seemed to have had a bad day as Yusupha Dibba, Lamin Ceesay, Tapha Saidy, and substitute strikers Ebrima Jallow and Sanna Saidy wasted most of the vital chances created, with Lamin Ceesay's canon deflecting on the thigh of United’s ever alert goalie Kebba  Fadera.

When chickens were just coming home to roost and fans and spectators readying for a thrilling penalty shoot out, Man United's midfield maestro, Pierre Malou, from out of nowhere, headed in Lamin Njie's left footed out-step to fetch his team their first ever silverware.
