Alieu SBM Jallow, Managing Director and Proprietor of Uncle Sam Security Services, on Monday testified in a legal tussle, involving his firm and the West Africa Bronze company.
The company is claiming D300, 000 from Uncle Sam Security Services for alleged breach of contract and negligence.
Testifying before Principal Magistrate Kebba Sanyang of Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, Mr Jallow recalled that he was approached by a representative of the plaintiff to provide security services to some of the stores and residences of the company in Kanifing, Pipeline, and on Kairaba Avenue. He added that his company provided security for the stores and residences, after the two companies had signed a contract, which lasted for three months.
Mr Jallow then told the court that the Manager of West African Bronze reported to him that some items were stolen from one of their stores in Kanifing, valued at D300, 000.
He further testified that the plaintiff alleged that one of the Uncle Sam employees had connived with 18 of the West African Bronze staff to perpetrate the alleged crime.
The Uncle Sam Security boss then told the court that the plaintiff convened a meeting, after a few days, demanding a D300, 000 compensation to his company. According to him, he put it to the plaintiff that he was not responsible for the act, because there was no evidence of breakage on the store.
