Biko turn draw specialists

A fierce goal draught marred the Week Seventeenth fixtures of the GFA division one league with only four goals scored in six fixtures.

The relegation escapees, Steve Biko, have established themselves as division one draw specialists as they settled for yet another 0-0 draw against struggling Interior on Monday at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.

Monday’s draw match was Bakau club’s twelfth game in seventeen fixtures that ended in stalemate as they lie at the sixth position with 21 points.

On the same day, Wallidan were held to a goalless draw by Ports Authority, a result that saw the Blues Boys lead on the table cut to two points.

Earlier on Saturday, Hawks put two goal past Samger to remain in contention for the title.

The Reds are now third on the table with 28 points - three points away from  leaders Wallidan.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Armed Forces prevailed a 1-0 winner against Sait Matty-Africell at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium. The result saw the Soldiers improve their position to fifth spot on 22 points, while the Africell sponsored side remain at eight positions on 19 points.

In the start of Week Seventeenth fixtures on Friday, league champions Real de Banjul were held to a 0-0 draw by  Bakau United at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, while Sea View also forced Gamtel to the same score at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
