After losing the Serrekunda East knockout title to Bantaba FC, Macasa FC bounced back last Sunday to clinch the 2007 Western Union Championship by thrashing Milan FC 2-0.

Macassa took the lead in the 31st minute through Ebrima Njie despite Milan dominance of the game.

After numerous futile counter attacks and efforts to level the scores by Milan’s Habib Kunta, Captain Abdourahman Dampha, alias Del, and his side Macasa FC, sealed the 2-0 victory in the 92 minute when Lamin Saho netted the second goal.

The match ended 2-0 and Champions Macassa were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize of D25,000 while Milan were consoled with D15,000.
