Female Football Selection Begins Training![]() Wednesday, December 05, 2007 40 female players invited for the formation of a female national team have commenced training sessions at the Serrekunda East mini-stadium last Saturday. The female selection side is currently being trained by two female coaches, Mariama Sowe (alias Bum) and Chorro Mbenga, together with one Bubacarr Jallow, Regional Coach for Western Region. Sainey Jammeh, Chairman of the Female Football Committee said the players will train for three weeks in which a final screening will be made. He said after the screening and final selection of twenty -five players, a national Coach will be appointed to oversee the affairs of the team. “The team will take part in two international matches with Guinea Bissau and Senegal, in order to check the strength of the team before naming a final squad that will register for international competition,” he explained.
