GPA Battle with Armed Forces Today

The first round of the 2006a/2007 Gambia Football Association first Division league would end today with the last game of the rescheduled matches between the Gambia Ports Authority FC and Armed Forces FC at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Today’s game would be very contested as both teams have collected 14 points in their 8 games played but GPA have a slight lead over Armed Forces in term of goal different.

GPA have scored 11 goals and conceded only 7 with a goal different of plus 4 while Armed Forces netted 7 goals and conceded 4 with plus 3.

A victory for each of these teams today, would join Real De Banjul at 17 points and the second spot on the table would be determined through goals.

It could be recalled that last Friday, Armed Forces defeated Seaview FC 1-0 in another rescheduled game played at the Serekunda West Mini Stadium.

Meanwhile the second round would kick off on Saturday May 19th, 2007 with Hawks taking on Bakau United at the Independence Stadium in Bakau and Steve Biko play GPA in Serrekunda East while Africell/Sait Matty would battle it with Armed Forces the same day in Serekunda West.

On Sunday 20th, 2007 two matches are on the programme with Real De Banjul playing Seaview in Serrekunda West and Gamtel lock horns with Wallidan in Banjul.
