As part of activities commemorating the July 22 Revolution, the Vice President, Dr. Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy, recently inaugurated the Siffoe Model Senior Secondary School in Kombo South, Western Region.
The school was built at the tune of D38 million and funding was provided under the auspices of Republic of China on Taiwan.
In her inaugural speech, Madam Njie-Saidy recalled that since 1994, the AFPRC administration has built 168 schools across the country.
She thanked the Republic of China on Taiwan for providing the fund for the construction of the school.
The Secretary of State for Education, Hon. Fatou Lamin Faye, described the inauguration of Siffoe Senior Secondary School as an epoch-making event in the history of the country’s education system.
She thanked the president for according education a high priority.
For his part, the Taiwanese ambassador to The Gambia, Dr. Patrick Chang, commended the GTTI for executing the Siffoe school project as expected.
Other speakers on the occasion include Hon. Paul Mendy of Kombo South constituency.
