Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Improvised Sukuta team, Bluebird FC, can now indulge their love of soccer in style after a generous donation of three sets of football jerseys worth three thousand pounds from Ilfracombe, a championship club in United Kingdom.

Presenting the items on behalf of the donors, Mike Marsh, said the donation was made possible through the intervention of John Fowler, proprietor of John Fowlers Holiday Parks in UK. While commending the donors for the philanthropic gesture, Mike said such magnanimity will go a long in helping the young players to realise their potentials.

Receiving the items, Sulayman Sambou, Chairman of Bluebird FC expressed delight  and revealed that his club has never received such help since its inception a couple of years back.

He said the gesture could not have come at a better time as his club is set to participate in local leagues.  He assured the donors of the proper use of the equipment.

The end of the presentation was marked with a friendly match between the senior team and their juniors.
