Wuli East Gets New Chief

Reports reaching The Point have it that Mr. Ebrima Juwara, the younger brother of the late Kanda Kasseh Juwara, has been appointed as the new Head Chief of Wuli East in the Upper River Region. The Governor of the region, Alhagie Omar Abu Khan, confirmed the appointment of Mr. Juwara when this reporter contacted him on Wednesday.

Our sources further disclosed that Chief Ebrima Juwara would be sworn in and his flag would be hoisted on 12th July 2007, at his home village of Boro Kandeh Kasseh. Several local dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony.

It could be recalled that the chieftaincy seat of the District fell vacant few months ago following the death of the late Alhagie Kanda Kasseh Juwara.
