The New Yundum Goodwin Junior Warden, a charitable youth organisation in New Yundum, recently held their second-term education congress at the village bantaba.

Speaking at the congress, the coordinator of the warden, Mr. Kebba Sillah Manneh, said the association was formed to bring the youths of the village - who are attending different schools – together and to help them in developing their skills in debate, quiz, drama and news reading.

Mr. Manneh also highlighted some of the other activities his association is involved in, such as national cleansing exercise and skills development.

In his speech on the occasion, the chief coordinator of the association, Mr. Bakary Jawara, thanked parents for their relentless support towards the organisation.

Mr. Jawara used the occasion to call on youths to respect their elders and always be prepared to do something good for their nation.

He also called on the government, private entrepreneurs and the NGOs to support their cause.

The occasion brought together students from both nursery and senior secondary schools in the community.

In attendance were the Alkalo and elders of the village, Mr. Bakary Trema Dahaba from the GFA and members of the football team of the village.
