The president of the Gambia Football Association, Seedy MB Kinteh, is currently in Dakar, Senegal, to put the necessary arrangements in place for the arrival of the Darling Scorpions from Canada.
Speaking to Pointsport in a telephone interview yesterday from Dakar, Seedy Kinteh said that he traveled to Dakar to prepare the arrival of the team from Canada where they took part in the FIFA Youth Championship.
Mr. Kinteh added that the exact date and time of the arrival of the team would be known today.
GFA Boss pointed out that part of his mission in Dakar is to arrange a flight for the team from Dakar to Banjul.
It could be noted that the Gambia U-20 team reached the second round of the FIFA Youth Championship currently underway in Canada.
After losing to Mexico 3-0 in the opening game, the Darling Scorpions bounced back by beating New Zealand 1-0 in their second game and humbled one of the tournament favorite Portugal 2-1 to book a place in the last 16 before being eliminated by Austria 2-1.
