Conscious of the fact that migration forms an integral part, as well as a major determinant factor in human history, Haggi Jawara, Gambian Consul General in the Republic of Angola, is engaged in the sensitization of Gambians on the need to move towards a respectful migration, as stipulated in the laws of the host country.

According to him, 2000 Gambians are now living in one of the biggest countries in the Southern Africa region whose integration, he noted depends on the host country’s policies.

“So far, efforts have been made to help young migrants to find employment, housing, education and health care”, he stated. “As a result of this, he met several times with Eduardo Dos Santos, President of the Republic of Angola, with the main objective of ameliorating the situation of Gambians in that part of the world. That’s why our compatriots are becoming more and more law-abiding in Angola”, he asserted.

Commenting on the consecutive victories of the Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) in the Presidential and Legislative elections, he attributed the success story to the leadership of President Yahya Jammeh. “With President Jammeh, we will always be in the right track”, he concluded
