Before his departure, Amadou Ngum, alias Basse, who spoke to this reporter, said a college in the UK has been pursuing him since Canada 2007 alongside other Colleges in the US, but opted to go to the UK.

He said, “while in UK, I will be going to school and playing football with the College for a period of two years, and I am also expecting to go for trials at Portsmouth academy, which has already been arranged by my representative, Ambrose Mendy”.

Alhagie Amadou Ngum’s departure increases the number of Gambian players that left Banjul recently to seek brighter prospects in their football careers in other parts of the world.
