As part of efforts to improve the quality of life for the people of the municipality, Kanifing Municipal Council has recently disbursed a financial aid to Abuko Ward for the extension of electricity supply to some parts of the ward.

Speaking at a ceremony organised at KMC to hand over the cheque for D388,808.50, the acting mayor of KMC, Mr. Alieu Momar Njie, said the disbursement was part of KMC’s efforts in completing and supplementing government’s efforts in the provision of electricity to citizens and non-citizens resident in the country.

Mr. Njie thanked President Jammeh for taking a lead role in the matters of electricity generation.

The councilor for Abuko Ward, Mr. Yusupha Jarjue, thanked KMC for the gesture.

The Alkalo of Abuko, Boto Tamba, also spoke on the occasion.
