ZANOCA Games Set For December

The first ever Zone11 of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ZANOCA), would be organising its games in Mali.

It would feature Athletics, Boxing, Football, Judo, Taekwondo and wrestling in the cadet level (U-17) from December 23rd to the 29th 2006.

According to George Gomez, Executive Director of the Gambia National Olympic Committee, the purpose of the games is to select the Zonal Champion in Cadet Level (U-17) and to identify potential athletes who may benefit from further training and exposure for the 2010 Olympic Games.

“The associations whose sports are in the games are hereby invited to prepare their teams for these important events” he said.

Mr Gomez added that the GNOC would provide would provide transportation of delegates to and from and local transportation, board and lodge would be provided by the local organising committee.
