According to news monitored over GRTS yesterday evening, the security forces have thwarted plans by 50 men reportedly intending to travel to Spain by sea.
According to the reports officers of the NIA, following a tip-off, put up strict surveillance hours before the expected time of departure of the would-be immigrants from the compound of one of their suspected ring leaders, Burama Camara, alias Faburama, of Fagi Kunda and the Old Jeshwang river side behind Breckwoldt.
Consequently, after a tough encounter at both Fajikunda and the Old Jeshwang river side the men comprising of 45 Gambians, were arrested. They are currently said to be helping the police in their investigations.
79 drums of gas oil, two boat engines and two canoes were discovered in the process.
