Howdy!
My name is Kim and I am truly amazed by the course my life has taken.
Sean and I have known each other since we were eight years old. We went to school together through 8th grade and then went our separate ways for high school.
It wasn't until our junior year that we became close friends and soon after started dating. We saw each other everyday and did almost everything together.
During our senior year we had our ups and downs. In the spring we took a break for a while and tried to be best friends. We were both scared of being together and were miserable when we were apart.
We were planning to go to college in Germany together. But my admission was taken away due to low grades. In July Sean pulled me aside to tell me "I'm very scared and not sure what’s going to happen between us. All I know is I can't leave the country without knowing that we're together and that you know I love you".
At that moment it felt like no distance would keep us apart.
In August I left for Texas A&M @Galveston and Sean left for Bremen Germany. It was hard on both of us. He was homesick and still had not accepted the fact that I wasn't going to be there with him.
The first semester was the hardest and Christmas felt so far away. But in the end we made it! Everyone told us it wouldn't last and we would break up before November but they were wrong. We web cam'ed almost every day and talked on the phone 3-5 times per week.
To be honest before I left for school I had no clue how we were going to make it but once I got there it wasn't nearly as hard as I imagined. But now I see that being apart has been a wonderful thing. We both were forced to make a decision as to what and who is important in our lives.
Last January we celebrate our two year anniversary by phone (he in France and I in Tx)I can't even imagine being with someone else even though Sean is over 4,000 miles away. I love him so much. I know as long as we love each other we'll be able to hold out. I can hardly believe in two weeks I'll be on my way to see him.
