Horse accident victim needs urgent assistance

Ebriama Faal,a resident of Farrafenni is seeking assistance to undergo overseas treatment, after a long admission at the Farrafenni Hospital.

Mr Faal, who was admitted on the 7th October 2006 was involved in a horse accident, which eventually developed to serious pain and temperature with C3-C4 and spastic quadriplegia.

The report added that the vertebral displacement is grave IV in Meyer ding scale. Also there are small bone fragment of 5mm in the spinal, the report stated, adding that there is fracture in transverse process of c6 and c7 and a fracture in the right lamina of c6 and c5.

A panel of four Doctors recommended that the best option for Mr Faal is a surgical operation which is not available in The Gambia at the moment. They therefore recommended for an overseas treatment for Mr Faal but only by an air ambulance as he is not allowed to travel on a commercial flight.
