Gambian international Tijan Jaiteh has added a coveted personal accolade to the team success after he was voted the best Young Player of the newly crowned Norwegian league champions, Brann FC.
Before the game against Viking, the former Gambia Ports Authority young midfielder received the award for Young Player of the Year from Brann fans.
“This is a big moment in my career”, said Jaiteh shortly after the match.
44 long years of waiting finally came to an end on Sunday, October 28, when Brann received the trophy that has proven that they are champions of the Norwegian Tippeliga.
In front of a packed Brann supporters, Jaiteh and his team mates, started their celebration. A couple of hours later, the celebration moved down to the city centre where close to 100 000 people had gathered to pay tribute to their heroes.
After the celebrations, Jaiteh sent a greeting to everybody back home in The Gambia. “I want to send my love to all my friends and my entire family in The Gambia, elated Jaiteh said.
