Student Convicted for Violation of Highway Code

A student (name withheld) was recently convicted for violating the Highway Code.

The convict had admitted responsibility for hit-and-run driving, careless driving, as well as driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licence.

In his judgement, Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke, imposed a six-month driving ban on the student and a six-month suspended sentence. The convict was also ordered to pay compensation of D3,700 to the complainant.

Magistrate Mbacke earlier on pointed out the need for parents to control their children when it comes to the use of their vehicles.
