Police Big Guns on Country-wide Familiarization Tour

A high powered delegation comprising various unit chiefs of the Gambia Police Force yesterday kick-started a familiarization tour of police stations across the country.

The delegation, headed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Alhaji Modou Gaye, includes Police Adviser Famara RI Jammeh, Commissioner of Operations Famara Jallow, Officer Commanding Police Stations ASP Ebou Njie, Officer Commanding Criminal Record Office Superintendent Ami Nyassi, Officer Commanding Children’s Welfare Inspector Yamundow Jagne and Officer Commanding Community based Policy Cadet ASP Sirrah Jabang.

According to the Police PRO Inspector Sulayman Secka, the nation wide tour of police stations seeks to familiarize the police authorities with the realities on the ground so as to find ways and means of improving on the situation. He revealed that this is the first tour of its kind embarked upon by the new administration.

In concluding PRO Secka said that the tour is expected to last for a week.
