The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia yesterday issued a public notice to announce the completion of the translation of the Holy Quran into three of the main languages spoken in The Gambia, Mandinka, Wollof and Fula. The full text of the release is reproduced hereunder:
The general public is hereby informed that translation of the Holy Quran into Mandinka, Wollof and Fula languages have been completed and published by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, The Gambia.
This is part of the Jama’at’s unrelenting efforts to spread the knowledge of the Holy Quran worldwide. This translation we hope will enable those who are not versed in the Arabic language and other languages but can read the Mandinka, Wollof or Fula text to learn and know the meaning of the Holy Quran in their own languages thereby widening their knowledge and understanding of their religion - Islam.
It consists of the original Arabic text with translation into the language concerned, placed side by side. Copies are now available at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s head office at Talinding Kunjang or any of the Jamaat’s regional offices country wide.
The work of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at is to propagate and spread the teachings of the Holy Quran and sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustapha (SAW) by enlightening the people and serving humanity.
For further information please contact the Jama’at’s head office on Tel: 4390621/4390622.
