At least 32 staff of the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) on Thursday received certificates after successfully completing an IT training at the QuantumNet Institute of Technology.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Muhammed Jah, Managing Director of QuantumNet gave a brief exposure of how the training came about, noting that the government of The Gambia and the World Bank have reached an agreement for the provision of a Tax Administration Software System, known as GAMTAXNET. “The project is being coordinated by the Capacity Building for Economic Management Project (CBEMP) and the supplier is QuantumNet,” he said.

According to him, the project could not proceed with one of the milestones, which is the training of the GAMSTAFF in the use of GAMTAXNET, as the staff were deficient in basic computer skills.

“As GRA has funding constraints, QuantumNet agreed to train for free, the thirty-two GRA staff who will be involved in computer basic and initial knowledge in software applications,” he revealed.

He further expressed confident that the trainees will deliver at their various offices as expected of them.

Abodoulie Sanyang of GRA, congratulated his members of staff for the successful completion of the training.
He finally thanked QuantumNet for their support in complementing government’s efforts.
