Gambian athletes prepare for 2009 Olympic Games

Two Gambian top class athletes - Ansu Sowe and Bakary Jabbi are currently undergoing  a high performance training in oversease as part of preparation for the Olympic Games schedulled to take place in Beijing, China, next year.

The training according to GNOC secretary-general annual report, has started in May 2006, and is expected to end on August 31, 2008. The report added that the training was approved by the Olympic Solidarity after an application from the Gambia National Olympic Committee for high performance training for Gambian athletes, According to the reports, the duo - Ansu Sowe and  Bakary Jabbi are admitted at the high performance training centre in Kenya.
