What a good year? It’s year of much highs and few lows for the Gambia’s emerging diva, Nancy Nanz. After releasing several singles that were received with enthusiastic and genuine applause in the country’s  music scene, Nancy was in fact of the belief that it was yet morning on the day of creation. Little did we know at the time that the seeds of these singles would grow to a massive oak tree. But in few hours  to go ,  Nancy Nanz would write her name in the hall of fame when she outdoor her long-awaited sensational debut album entitled XALEL(children) which is dedicated to all the children of the Gambia and the entire world at large. The CD, an 8-track album, is ready to do its participation in raising the flag of the Gambia higher in the world of music.

Addressing a high-profile news conference on Saturday at the now happening Images Night Club, Nancy Nanz told news - hungry  reporters that her debut album will hit the music market today, adding that the release of the album  is a dream come true.

According to her, she had spent sleepless nights in the studio so as to come up with an album that would add value to the Gambia’s music landscape. The extremely- elated Nancy went on to pay a glowing tribute to GAMCEL for going all-out to sponsor her to produce the album.

She did not also forget to thank her parents and her brother, Pa Abdou, for making things jell. She further informed the gathering that plans are underway for her to embark upon a massive tour tagged “Meet the Fans Tour,” which, she said, will provide her the opportunity to promote her new album as well as meet and interact with a legion of her fans both in the country and beyond.

Still buttressing on the album, Nancy said that XALEL is intermingled with hip hop , dancehall, salsa and mbalax , adding that she featured a handful of topflight Senegambian artists in the album with the aim of giving it an international appeal.

Other speakers at the news conference include Ebou Waggeh, Oko Drammeh and Almamy Gassama, Gamcel’s Marketing Manager.
