New board for SEEG

The Synergy of Expatriate Educators - The Gambia (SEEG), on Wednesday, inaugurated a 10-member board of advisers headed by Kunkung Jobarteh, deputy permanent secretary, Department of State for Basic and Secondary Education, at a  ceremony held at the Regional Education Office in Kanifing.

Speaking at the ceremony, Israel Oneli, director general, SEEG, thanked the new board members for accepting their appointments. Mr Oneli affirmed that his association is here to complement the government’s efforts in providing quality education to Gambian children.

He then thanked the Department of State for Basic and Secondary Education for their support and assured them of their readiness to work collectively.

He used the occasion to call on members to ensure that the country’s education goals are achieved.

Speaking earlier, Emmanuel Fagbenle, director of public prosecution at the Attorney General’s Chambers and the Department of State for Justice, who is also a board member, commended the association and advised them to keep up the good work.

“As teachers in The Gambia, you are contributing in no small way in helping Gambian children to have quality education,” he said.

Other members of the board included Pastor E Smith, Pastor C Donkor and Israel Oneli.
