Gambia thrash Guinea 3-0

Thursday, December 6, 2007

The Gambia Scorpions have rekindled their hope of clinching their first-ever Zone II trophy with a sensational 3-0 victory against Guinea Conakry in their final group match played last night.

Two goals from Armed Forces ace, Buba Darboe, and a goal from Ousman Jagne, earned the Scorpions a comfortable win against the toothless Syli Nationales who crashed out of the eight-team competition with only one point.

Despite earning the much needed win, the Scorpions will still have to wait for the outcome of the Mali and Cape Verde match, which was in progress at the time of going to press last night.

Should Mali beat or draw with Cape Verde, the Scorpions will progress to the semi-final stages as Group B second best on four points
