Media Agenda Formed

The Media Agenda (Gambia) has been formed recently at its head office in Ebo Town, by the president of the GPU, Madi Ceesay.

Speaking at a press briefing at its head office in Ebo Town, the Deputy Director of Media Agenda, Aji Haddy Ceesay, informed the press that the organization was a non Governmental one (an NGO) that shall at all time focus on the promotion and fame of media in the Gambia.
The objective of the media agenda is to build the capacity of media practitioners and institutions like Gambia Press Union and individual media houses in The Gambia’, she said, adding that, the NGO shall in the following ways to play its role in enhancing the media in the Gambia and within the sub-region. She revealed that media agenda, a non political and profit- making body is principally concerned with the development of the media.

On this point, the director of the media agenda, Mr. Madi Ceesay who is also the president of the Gambia Press union (GPU) said that he felt that the Gambian media to be improved, and therefore the formation of the media agenda can play a greater role in developing Gambia media practitioners through capacity -building.
