Police in Seminole, Florida, have locked down Anna Nicole Smith's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino room in an effort to find information about the actress/model's final hours. Smith, a "frequent patron" of the hotel, checked into the Hard Rock on Monday. She was found unconscious by her private nurse yesterday afternoon.
Reports suggest Smith suffered a fever the night before she passed away. Her lawyer, Ronald A. Rale, has confirmed his client was suffering from flu symptoms in the days before her death.
Her nurse called the hotel operator and the emergency services after failing to rouse Smith minutes before a bodyguard administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the actress. Smith was then transported to the Memorial Regional Hospital nearby, where she was pronounced dead at 2:49 pm EST - less than an hour after her arrival.
At a press conference yesterday outside the hotel and casino Seminole Police Chief told reporters, "We will continue the investigation into this matter."
