Action Aid The Gambia, last week Thursday concluded a workshop on Participation Review and Reflection Process (PRRP) as part of its annual consultative process with its partners on their programme of activities, at the Baobolong Lodge in Central River Region (CRR).
Delivering an opening statement, Momodou Katim Touray, Deputy Governor of CRR, highlighted the importance of the exercise, saying it confirms Action Aid’s participatory approach to development. Deputy CRR Governor Touray maintained that the objective of the review was to improve efficiency and effectiveness in programme intervention of the organisation and its partners.
He said Action Aid The Gambia seeks to reach the needy, who are hard to be reached in our communities. He then commended the organisation for their efforts towards improving the lives of the people of the communities in the region, noting that this will go a long way in complementing government efforts towards reducing poverty.
Bakary Fadera, Action Aid Development Area Coordinator, said the participatory review is an annual activity in his organisation, adding that it’s organised to ensure critical assessment of programme performance and draw lessons from it. Mr. Fadera called on the participants to reflect on key challenges and lessons learned from the exercise.
