The Gambia representative in the 2007 MTN- CAF Championship league competition, Gambia Ports Authority FC, last Saturday, lost 1-0 to the Ghanaian Champions Ashanti Kotoko of Kumasi in the first leg match played in Accra.

GPA FC performance should be commended despite played away and with the absence of five players in its starting line up, who are with the Gambia National U-20 for the African Youth Championship in Congo, the team was able to contain the Ghanaians.

They are Mandou Bojang, Pa Modou Jagne, Sainey Nyassi, Sanna Nyassi and Furmus Mendy.

Meanwhile, the second leg tie between of this match would be played on Saturday February 10th, 2007 at the Independence Stadium at 16.30pm.
