Two Gambia U-20 team players, which participated in the just ended African Youth Championship in Congo, were honoured last Saturday at the end of the championship.
Gambian vice captain Ousman Jallow alias Ous or Jardel of Raja of Casablanca and Joseph Jomez alias Nding of Wallidan FC imaged leading goal scorer and best goalkeeper respectively.
Ousman Jallow, who was the leading goal scorer in the 2005 CAF U-17 championship held in Banjul, scored three goals in the Congo Championship.
He scored the first Gambian goal in Congo against Burkina Faso and came from the bench to score twice against Zambia in the third place game last Friday at the Alphonse Masamba Debat in Brazzaville.
For Joseph Gomez, he conceded only one goal in his four appearances in Congo.
Only the Nigerian Echilijie was able to beat Joseph Gomez in the semi final in which the Young Scorpions lost to the Flying Eagles 1-0.
Both players were presented with a trophy by the Confederation of African Football.
