Student drowns in river

Momodou Baldeh, aged, 19 from Burreng in Niamina East and a grade 10 student of Armitage Senior Secondary School on Sunday, February 10, met his untimely death after drowning in a river.

Narrating the circumstances leading to his death, Ebrima Susso, a friend who was with the deceased when the incident occurred said “We were from school when the deceased suggested that we should go to the river side, but I disagreed with him because the river had a turbulent history. But the deceased disagreed and we went alone.

Upon arrival he removed his clothes and jumped into the river and subsequently drowned, resulting in his death,” he narrated.
