Naomi Campbell to Go From Toilet Duty to Editing Chair

Thursday, March 22, 2007
Supermodel Naomi Campbell will go from clean-up duty to the editor's desk after agreeing to take charge of an issue of Britain's GQ magazine once her community service is complete. The catwalk star is in the middle of a week of court-ordered community service at the New York City Department of Sanitation, and she'll reveal all about her experience when she edits GQ next month.

Campbell's spokesman Jeff Raymond insists, "Naomi is doing great... Upon finishing, she's due to begin her next assignment for British GQ, where she serves as contributing editor for the magazine."

Meanwhile, the model, who was put on five-day clean-up duty as part of the sentence she received after pleading guilty to assaulting a maid, is impressing the sanitation workers she's working alongside.

One colleague, Beverly Pearce, says, "She's a very nice girl. I thought she would be snooty, but she was very nice."

And it looks like Campbell has made friends on the job. Albert Durrell, the deputy chief of the sanitation department, tells People magazine, the model has bonded with two of her fellow workers and they've been enjoying lunch together.
