Senior premiership referee in Gambia visit

A seasoned referee in the highly-rated English premiership league, R. Rennil is currently in the country for a week-long holiday.

The renowned referee, who graced Hawks’ Saturday match against Nigeria’s Dolphin FC on Saturday at the Independence Stadium, told Observer Sports that his visit to The Gambia will accord him the rare chance to have a taste of Gambian culture. Rennil, who has once refereed in Morocco before, expressed his satisfaction over the standard of football in the country, as according to him, Hawks’ Saturday game against Dolphin made him realise some promising talents in the Gambia’s domestic league.

Rennil, who is expected to officiate in next week’s premiership matches, said he will be delighted to return to The Gambia for another visit. “I will love to come back to The Gambia. The Gambian people have been very much hospitable since my arrival in the country and this will surely motivate me to make a come back”, he told Observer Sports.
