Modou Ceesay was on Wednesday, April 11, arraigned before Magistrate Amina Saho-Ceesay of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court, charged for rape, contrary to the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of the offense, on 14th January, 2007 at Sinchu baliya Village in Western Region, Modou Ceesay unlawfully had canal knowledge with a 14 year old girl. He has pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against him.
He was granted a court bail to a sum of D25, 000, with two Gambian sureties, who were also asked to deposit their original identity cards, as well as provide the court with a reachable contact addresses.
Presiding Magistrate Amina Saho-Ceesay then adjourned the case to Wednesday, May 2, for judgment.
Lawyer Edward Gomez, represented the accused, while First Class 1674 Ceesay, and represented the IGP.
