Ways to Stand Out and Be Noticed

When you're in the dating scene, one of the first steps to getting a date is actually getting noticed by someone! The next time you're planning a night out on the town; take a moment to ask yourself, "What can I do to make someone want to talk to me instead of the person next to me?" Below, are a few tips to help you get started!

Always carry a smile!

People are typically attracted to others that make them feel good about themselves, or life in general. A smile is an excellent icebreaker, and when given to people you'd like to talk to, it brings you one step closer to "first contact."

Make eye contact with people.

Eye contact can be a very powerful unspoken communication. Poets and lovers alike seem to always tell about these unforgettable moments where all that happened was a captured moment of eye contact between two people. If you use this tool properly, you can create a sense of allure, mystery and desirability.

Take the time to really look great!

No matter how politically correct it is, the person who took the time to look great will usually get the most attention. Use this to your advantage and wear flattering clothes, colors and hair styles.

Use your sense of humor.

Ask someone what the one thing they love about their partner is and you'll get answers like: their personality and sense of humor. Laughter makes people forget about their cares. If you can do that, you'll not only stand out, but you'll leave a lasting impression.

Actively participate in your surroundings.

If you're at a party, do the things you'd expect to see someone do at a party. Dance, mingle, and chat with people. If you're at a meeting or class, actively participate. It may sound simple, but it gets people to notice you and possibly be interested in learning more about you.
