The price of Kerosene has been increased from D12 per litre to D21 per litre with immediate effect according to a Press release from the Department of State for Finance and Economic Affairs yesterday.

The release reads; The Department of State for Finance and Economic Affairs wishes to inform the general public that the price of Kerosene has been increased from D12 per litre to D21 per litre with immediate effect.

Government’s policy had always been to subsidise the price of Kerosene for the benefit of the poor. But, it is now realised that the poor no longer benefit from the subsidized Kerosene, rather, other non targeted beneficiaries gain through profiteering in the sales and distribution of this product.
