Gambia U-20 Preparation on Cause – Coach Bonu

Bonu Johnson, the Head coach of the Gambia National U-20 team, has said that preparation for Canada 2007 is on course.

The U20 Manager told www.sports.gm, the leading Sports Website in the Gambia, that his preparatory program includes two home games which would be followed by a four week training camp in Europe before proceeding to America. According to him, Costa Rica, who falls in Group F together with Japan, Scotland, and Nigeria is interested in playing a friendly with the Gambia. Bonu explained that he is maintaining the Congo U 20 Squad but has invited Paul Jatta alias Apapa of Hawks, Abdurahman Dampha of Gambia Ports Authority and Abdou Darboe of Armed Forces.

According to him the final selection will depend on the players’ performance at training and at club level, that is the National League.

Commenting on injuries, Bonu said all players injured during the South Korea games have recovered except for Captain Ken Malamin Jammed, who according to him, is doing well. He blamed his side’s performance in Swon Championship on injuries and the weather. The Gambia U20 is in-group c together with Portugal, Mexico, and New Zealand. The darling U20 will play their first mach on the 2 July against Mexico.
