Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court yesterday, cautioned and discharged five accused persons.
The five accused, Bubacarr Baldeh, Cherno Abdoulie Bah, Mohammed Kaba, Manka Juma Camara and Ebrima Jallow were all arrested by the police on the 21st April 2007 in Dippa Kunda.
The accused were charged with idle and disorderly behaviour in a public place in Dippa Kunda in a manner which breached peace contrary to section 166 of the criminal code. When the charges were read to them, all the accused told the court that, they are first time offenders and promised that they will behave well in the future.
In his ruling the presiding Magistrate cautioned them to be very careful and behave well.
“If you go back to that ghetto, get drunk and disturb the people I will deal with you mercilessly,” he told them.
In another development, one Modou Sanneh of Dippa Kunda was granted bail to the sum of D10, 000 following his plea of not guilty to charges of threatening violence contrary to section 84 of the criminal code. He was dragged following his alleged attempt to kill one Abissa Cham of Dippa kunda with a knife.
The case continues on the 8th May, 2007.
