GSSS Alumni gets new executive

The Gambia Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Alumni Association, last Saturday selected a new interim executive members to steer the affairs of the association as part of their efforts to receive and rejuvenate the body.

At a ceremony held at the school premises, Mr. Abdurahman Bah was appointed Chairman, Ms Rosaline Secka- Vice-Chairperson, Mr John Gomez- Secretary-General, Mr. Abdou Jatta- Social Secretary and Ms Maimuna Jatta, as Treasurer.

Speaking at the ceremony shortly after his appointment as the Chairman, Mr. Abdourahman Bah expressed his readiness to work hand-in-glove with the new team. He described the newly appointed executive as dedicated individuals who are willing to sacrifice their time to move the association forward.
“We have set our goals and the sky is our limit,” he said.  Adding that among their aims, is to sponsor needy students of the school, provide incentives for the teachers, give out prizes to outstanding students and create an avenue for skills and talentend students to show case their given talents.

The new interim executive is also expected to call for a congress within two months to elect a legitimate executive. They also hope to launch a website and organise fund raisings for the association.
