Speaking at the meeting, the president of the association, Mr. Ebou Yanka, said the meeting was part of their annual congress.

The primary objective of the annual meeting was to revitalise membership of the society, he said, adding that the meeting discussed issues affecting the association and the relevant possible solutions.

Mr. Yanka urged members of the society to demonstrate love and mutual understanding among themselves, saying "solidarity is fundamental to human progress".

He also urged them to put politics aside and work together as one, for the development of the nation, as "the association has been established mainly to develop the poor and the needy".

He said the association is not behind any another party, but for the ruling party APRC and its government.
