Student Seeks Sponsorship

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Taibou Sonko, a university student, who stays in Churchill’s Town, is in need of assistance to continue his education.

Sonko’s family is financially bankrupt and he risks dropping out of college for lack of support to continue his studies. He is therefore pleading with the public, NGOs, and the private sector to come to his aid.

“Sonko has been a very serious and hardworking student,” said a friend of his family who spoke recently to this reporter. “I was wondering why he would some times absent for lectures,” added a student colleague of Sonko. “But he told me that his family could not afford to pay his university fee any more.”

“I am desperately in need of help from NGOs, the private sector and individuals to further my education. I am a poor student. My parents are unable to pay my fees. Without support from the public, I will have to discontinue my studies,” Sonko explained his situation.

Sonko can be reached on the cell number 9942588 or through The Point on 4497441.
