The Students’ Union of the University of The Gambia (UTG) is on a tour of schools across the country to sensitise students about the significance of university education.
Last Friday, the delegation visited senior secondary schools in Lower River Region (LRR) and also had an audience with the governor of the region, Momodou Soma Jobe, at his office in Mansakonko.
Speaking at the meeting, Kemo Cham, the president of the students’ union, applauded President Jammeh for establishing the University of The Gambia.
For his part, governor Jobe encouraged students to always respect their lecturers and be law-abiding citizens.
Other speakers at the meeting include the Press Officer of the union, Mr. Lamin Jobe, who commended the people of the region for the warm welcome accorded them.
Meanwhile, the delegation also had a meeting with the regional education director for region three before proceeding to Basse in URR.
