President Yahya Jammeh, the Gambian leader, on Tuesday hosted a banquet and cultural festival for Miss Black contestants at his home town of Kanilai.

The programmes attracted thousands of people across the country including Secretaries of State and other top brass of the civil services. The event started with a banquet at Sindola Hotel, which was one of the biggest events ever to be held at Sindola since its inception. Soon after the banquet, a cultural festival took off.

Almost all the cultural troops and Gambian musicians including the Army band, St Joseph’s School choir and the Taiwanese cultural troop among others, entertained the beauty queens and guests.
