Ex- NIA Officers’ Diamond Case Adjourned

Thursday, May 31, 2007

The prolonged diamond case involving six former National Intelligence Agency operatives resumed yesterday before Principal Magistrate Moses Richard of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The case, which was scheduled for hearing, could not however proceed as the court said that the case was not listed among the day’s cases. The magistrate therefore adjourned the case to 4th June 2007 for continuation.

The six former NIA operatives were Lamin Drammeh, Basiru Jabang, Kajali Jawara, Fabakary Barrow, Lamin Sanneh and Salimina Drammeh. The six have been standing trial on three counts of theft, abuse of office and criminal trespass. All six had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
