According to reports monitored from GRTS last evening, His Excellency President Jammeh, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces acting under the powers conferred on him by the constitution, promoted Colonel Lang Tombong Tamba and Captain Musa Jammeh to the ranks of Brigadier-General and Major respectively.

It is noteworthy that Colonel Tamba’s preferment represents the first time in the history of The Gambia that a serving army officer is being invested with such lofty rank.
