Saja Leigh of Stade du Bamako, Habib Kunta and Demba Sanyang of Steve Biko will not be part of the Baby Scorpions’ starting line-up in the Canada finals, but will still be part of the Gambian contingent that will travel to cheer up the team during the keenly awaited championships which starts on June 30.

Abdou Darboe, Kissima Tunkara, Sainey Sambou and Sainey Touray who also failed to make the final list will be also part of President Jammeh’s benevolent package to Canada, Peter Bonu Johnson, head coach of the U-20 team disclosed to Observer Sports yesterday.

He said the technical team of the U-20 team lodged an appeal to the coordinators for the inclusion of the seven players in the President’s package.

“We have also appealed for the inclusion of the chief ball boy, Karaboulie Susso. These are the people in sports and they should always be considered when there is such a package,” Bonu said.
